I have been thinking… what if there is a person who has a parallel life to mine? What if we go through the same things but we just don’t know about each other? What if we are reading the same book simultaneously and use the same toothpaste, drink the same brand of coffee, and order the same kind of sushi? What if we laugh at the same stupid stuff, and share the same pet peeves? Imagine what if we were born in the same year, in the same month, and on the same day? What if he too forgot his umbrella at home today, and it is pouring where he lives like it is pouring here? What if we are soul mates, it’s just that we will never meet? But parallel lines do meet conceptually in infinity, and maybe as I am thinking this, he is thinking about me, and our minds meet, conceptually, in infinity, breaking free from our bodies.

We were wonderful traveling companions but in the end no more than lonely lumps of metal in their own separate orbits. From far off they look like beautiful shooting stars, but in reality, they’re nothing more than prisons, where each of us is locked up alone, going nowhere. When the orbits of these two satellites of ours happen to cross paths, we could be together. Maybe even open our hearts to each other. But that was only for the briefest moment. In the next instant, we’d be in absolute solitude. Until we burned up and became nothing.

Just listen to me on one thing. Everyday you wait is one day you’ll never get back. Trust me on that.

I hate waiting for things.

(via shany)

Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite. Or waiting around for Friday night or waiting perhaps for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil or a better break or a string of pearls or a pair of pants or a wig with curls or another chance. Everyone is just waiting.

You wear a mask for so long, you forget who you were beneath it.

You are not there. Somewhere in the future, suffering for something that hasn’t happened yet. You are not there, in a place where all your worries manifest.

You are not there. Somewhere in the past, reliving your old mistakes and regrets. You are not there, in a place where memories resurrect.

You are here. Right here.

  • He: You never looked so beautiful.
  • She: You never really looked.
She’s a little scared to get close to anyone because everyone that said ‘I’ll always be here for you’ left.
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…

About:

I'm Angie! I find myself constantly afflicted with the so-called "good-girl complex" but I'm no angel (although I try to). I am addicted to boxes, bottles, jars, containers, papers & notebooks which had me thinking I might be some kind of a junk trader in my past life. When I was small, I dream of being an astronomer. Now, I’m just one avid sky-gazer. I love cooking. I'm a big fan of music and can play the guitar (not the mean guitar though). I am secretly arty. I love bookstores, antique shops, beaches, star-filled sky, road trips. I am drawn to poetry & literature for the raw emotions it can evoke in me.

Most of the time I feel like I belong to the old world; I feel like an old soul. Or maybe, I’m just romanticizing my life. Someday, (yeah, God willing!), I would have traveled the world (Korea, Tuscany!), learned another language, witnessed an aurora borealis and snow falling, rode on a hot-air balloon, spread God's word and, hope of all hopes, fallen in love!
